How stories work here

Two ways to get a story — free, or by giving to charity. You can use both.

Free, no strings: 3 stories, up to 3 chapters each, with a cover picture.
Donate $20, get more: unlocks 5 more stories, up to 10 chapters each, with a picture on every chapter — not just the cover. Goes straight to a charity you choose; we never touch it.

The two never compete — writing a free story doesn’t use up a donated one, or the other way round. And whatever you make, you can always read it, rewrite the words for free, and share or download it.

StoriesWorthGiving receives none of your donation. Pledge sends it straight to the approved charity you choose, along with your tax receipt.

Approved charities

You pick the cause. Every one below is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity working in children’s literacy or hunger relief — the two things a story about a family reading together has any business supporting.

How they were vetted

Registered 501(c)(3) in good standing, with an EIN we can show you.
Every EIN checked against IRS records through ProPublica’s Nonprofit Explorer, not taken from the charity’s own website.
Working in children’s literacy or food relief, so the giving matches what this site is for.
Long-established and independently reported on, rather than newly formed.

Where the money goes

Not to us. StoriesWorthGiving never touches the money and holds no account it could pass through. You give through Pledge, which disburses to the charity directly and emails you the tax receipt. All we ever learn is that a gift completed, so we know to unlock your stories.
